Our Story

Dance Party Time Machine isn’t your average EDM duo. Combing live, energetic drumming with incredibly slick DJing, music-production and mind-bending visuals, DPTM takes you on an electrifying dance party adventure through the vast reaches of time and space!
.
Picture this: you’re at one of our soul-soaked, heart-pounding shows, vibin’ to a groovy 70’s disco track. But suddenly the music changes as you feel yourself being transported to a dystopian, cyberpunk future where gritty techno is the drug. All of this happens while the drummer busts out the perfect beats to match, the DJ dials in the next destination in space-time and the visuals hypnotize your senses until you forget exactly where and when you are.
.
Formed in Los Angeles in 2019 by drummer Scott Gettlin and DJ/Producer William Brown, DPTM was created out of a mutual love for pairing live drumming to an EDM set. Inspired by acts such as GRiZ, Big Gigantic & JOYRYDE, the sound of Dance Party Time Machine is bombastic, funky and… wtf!? From Bass House to Techno Bounce (new genre alert!), there’s no style these west-of-the-Mississippi-East-Coast-bros can’t throw some sauce on. It’s booty shakin’ certified!

Brown, the DJ/Producer of the duo, channels the energy of multiple decades of pop, dance, and party music greatness, lacing together certified pop, rock, dance, hip-hop, and funk classics with modern EDM future/funky/bass house, glitch hop, breaks and twerk. The experience is that of a futuristic dance symphony. At one moment the dancer may be whisked away down memory lane either to that first dance they had at prom, or their guilty pleasure pump up jam, and in the next catapulted into a field of electronic dance ear candy and bouncy sub bass deployed with all the intensity of a sentient AI jukebox from the future.

Gettlin

(the drummer of the outfit) has been immersed in music most of his life. Scott knew music would be his foundation ever since his first year in middle school band.

From playing symphonic percussion in orchestras to drums for punk and indie bands, he comes from a very eclectic musical background. Being

the drummer of DPTM feels like the ultimate culmination of all of his past musical experiences.
